Version 2.0 is a complete rebuild: a new dashboard, room organization, an auto-generated shopping list, support for rechargeable batteries, and a cleaner design throughout.

Dashboard — One glance tells you what needs attention today, what's coming up, and what's already stocked in your inventory.
Rooms — Group devices by location (kitchen, garage, kids' rooms).
Shopping List — Batteries At Home tells you what to buy before your next store run: "4× AA, 2× CR2032" — generated automatically from your upcoming changes.
Rechargeable Batteries — Track charge cycles for NiMH and other rechargeables alongside disposables, with replacement guidance that accounts for their shorter lifetime per charge.
Device Photos — Attach a photo to a device so you remember which way the battery goes in, or where the tricky screw is, six months later.
Siri & Shortcuts — Ask Siri which devices need batteries, or build automations with the Shortcuts app.
Redesigned Widgets — Small, medium and large widgets now show device icons directly in the battery ring, with a cleaner layout at every size.
