Quanta 2 is a granular synthesizer. Load any sample, or record one straight into it, and the grain engine tears the audio into up to 100 simultaneous grains per voice, with full control over grain rate, pitch, direction, shape, length, pan, and source position.
Underneath the granular layer is a complete subtractive synth: two virtual analog oscillators with continuously variable waveshape and pulse width, plus a colored noise source, and all three can be injected directly into the grain engine as grain fodder. Dual multi-mode filters run in serial or parallel, with 22 filter types to choose from: classic biquads, state-variable, ladder, diode ladder, two Sallen-Key variants, and 8- and 12-pole allpass phase rotators, with a graph that plots the true frequency response of whatever you pick.
RECORD ANYTHING
Quanta 2 appears as both an instrument and an effect. Load the effect version on any channel in hosts like AUM or apeMatrix, or use the instrument's sidechain input in Logic Pro, press the record button, and up to ten seconds of audio lands directly in the sample buffer, drawing the waveform as it records. Trim the start and end right on the waveform, and it's ready to granulate. The standalone app records from your microphone or audio interface.
MODULATE EVERYTHING
Four Flexible Envelope Generators (up to 99 steps each, with curves, loop points, and tempo sync), two Flexible LFOs (amplitude, phase, shape, skew, and warp for a nearly limitless waveform palette), sample and hold, and four MIDI-assignable macro knobs. Any source to any destination, and every voice gets its own modulators.
IN TUNE, OR OTHERWISE
Grain pitch quantization locks grains to the notes you choose, post-modulation. Native MTS-ESP support, TUN tuning tables, and a global tuning offset cover microtonal work, and full MPE support gives you per-note pressure, pitch bend, and timbre from any MPE controller.
EVERYTHING ELSE
Chorus, stereo dual delay, and reverb from the Audio Damage effects library. Touch mode turns the waveform display into a playing surface. A large factory library includes Designer Presets from Richard Devine, Chris Carter, Joseph Fraioli, Marcus Fisher, Red Means Recording, and Red Sky Lullaby. Presets embed the sample and travel between iOS, macOS, Windows, and Linux versions untouched. The vector UI resizes from postage stamp to poster.

• Audio input recording. Quanta 2 now shows up as both an instrument and an effect. • Sample trim. Drag the new start and end markers on the waveform and press TRIM to cut away silence or unwanted bits. UNDO TRIM brings the previous sample back if you change your mind.
• Filter section reworked. The slope switch and shape buttons are gone, replaced by a single Type menu with 22 entries: the original filters (for preset compatibility) plus state-variable, ladder, diode ladder, two Sallen-Key variants, and 8- and 12-pole allpass phase rotators. The filter graph now plots the actual response of whichever topology is active.
• Much faster loading in hosts, especially with large preset libraries; the preset library information is now cached.
