This update is a significant content and stability release for AlienSwarms, an arcade swarm-shooter. Key changes reviewers may want to be aware of:
- New Game Over presentation: A fireworks celebration (with accompanying sound effects) now plays when the player beats their high score.
- In-App Purchase ("Remove Ads"): Fixed a bug where the purchase button's confirmation UI (text change + disabled state) wasn't updating correctly on device after a successful purchase — the purchase itself was always processing correctly, only the visual confirmation was affected. Also removed an unintended gameplay perk that let Remove Ads purchasers use a "one more life" ad-reward mechanic without needing to purchase it separately.
- Rewarded ads: Fixed a bug where the "watch an ad to continue" flow could skip its Yes/No confirmation prompt and play the ad directly. Players are now always asked before a rewarded ad plays.
- Gameplay stability: Fixed several bugs affecting score tracking, high score display, and a special in-game "ritual" encounter (a scripted enemy formation sequence) that could occasionally get stuck.
- Visual update: Enemies and the player ship received a visual refresh (added facial details, a light-up accent belt on the player).
- Additional polish and bug fixes, including improved hit feedback, smoother audio, and a fix to the Reset Best Score option so it takes effect immediately.
No new permissions, frameworks, or third-party SDKs were added in this release. Existing App Tracking Transparency, Unity Ads, and Unity IAP integrations are unchanged in terms of data collection — this release only touches gameplay/UI logic around them.
