7 READY-TO-USE SOCIAL INFERENCING ACTIVITIES
Inference Pics includes 7 activities:
- What Has Happened?
- Jobs
- Places
- Seasons
- Feelings
- Conversations
- Thoughts
HOW IT WORKS
STEP 1: CHOOSE A SOCIAL INFERENCING ACTIVITY
Tailor your client’s experience by choosing an activity that matches their level. Jobs, Places and Seasons are easier activities, while What Has Happened?, Thoughts and Conversations are more complex.
STEP 2: MAKE AN INFERENCE
Users are presented with a real-life photo and asked a question such as:
- What has happened?
- How is the person feeling?
- What are they saying?
- What are they thinking?
The first question varies depending on the chosen social inferencing activity.
STEP 3: EXPLAIN THE REASONING
Users then answer: "How can you tell?"
This encourages them to identify facial expressions, body language, and contextual clues that support their answer. An annotation tool allows users to draw directly on the image to highlight facial expressions, body language, and contextual clues, and explain their reasoning.
