• Learn and practice 50 important genetic metabolic disorders caused by enzyme defects.

• The app is divided into 4 sections: Introduction, Learning unit, Pairs Quiz, Test questions.

• In the introduction important terms are briefly explained.

• The learning unit contains detailed information on 50 genetic metabolic disorders. The information includes the name and EC number of the defect enzyme, a description of the underlying reaction type and the name of the metabolic pathway in which the enzyme is involved. Further information is the ICD-10 number, the disease frequency and a short description of the pathophysiology of the disease.

• The quiz allows you to learn related terms by turning over pairs of matching cards.

• You may test your knowledge with the question unit.

• The target group of the app are students of biochemistry and medicine as well as scientifically interested high school students.

Features

• Learn ICD-10 codes and the pathophysiology of 50 important genetic metabolic disorders.

• Learn the names, EC numbers, reaction types and metabolic pathways of the enzymes whose defects cause metabolic disorders.

• It is possible to learn the information about a metabolic disorder by uncovering individual learning cards step by step or all at once.

• In the introduction important terms such as ICD-10, enzymes, rare diseases, enzyme classifications, enzyme defects, heredity, and metabolic pathways are explained.

• The quiz is similar to matching pairs game, you can choose from 5 different pairs: Enzyme vs EC Number, Disease vs EC Number, Enzyme vs Disease, ICD-10 vs Disease and ICD-10 vs Enzyme.

• The number of cards can be set in steps of 2, from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 14.

• The pairs are selected randomly.

• You may test your knowledge by answering randomly generated questions.

• The questions are automatically generated based on the complete content of the learning unit.
