Deliver food rescue orders for YumCycle and choose the hours that suit you.
YumCycle Rider is the courier app for YumCycle — a food rescue platform operating in Leeds and Hull. Restaurants list their unsold end-of-day meals at half
price. Customers order through the YumCycle app. You collect from the restaurant and deliver to the customer. Most drops are short — under 2 miles — because food rescue happens close to closing time, and the customer base is local.
WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE
• Open the app when you want to work. Set yourself online.
• Accept drops that suit your route. Each job shows the pickup, the drop, the distance and the rider fee before you accept.
• Collect from the restaurant. Mark the order picked up.
• Deliver to the customer. Mark it delivered. Move on.
• Stop whenever you want. There's no shift minimum and no penalty for going offline.
THE PAYOUT
• Rider fees start from £1.50 per drop and scale with distance and order size.
• Tips from customers go 100% to you. We never take a cut of tips.
• Payouts are sent every Friday via Stripe Connect — direct bank transfer, no fees on our side.
• Your earnings dashboard updates after every drop so you always know where you stand for the week.
WHAT YOU NEED
• A means of transport — bike, e-bike, scooter or car
• A smartphone (this app)
• A UK bank account
• Right to work in the UK
• Public liability and (if motorised) hire and reward insurance — we'll explain the cheapest options during onboarding
• A YumCycle thermal bag, which we provide at onboarding
THE CARBON SIDE
Every food-rescue drop you complete keeps a real meal out of landfill. The app shows you your lifetime kilograms of CO2 saved and your weekly impact total.
Bike and e-bike riders earn an additional "low-carbon delivery" badge on every drop.

ONBOARDING
1. Download the app.
2. Sign up with your phone number and email.
3. Upload your ID, right-to-work proof, and (if motorised) insurance documents.
4. Watch a 5-minute training video.
5. Collect your thermal bag from our partner point in your city, and start accepting drops the same day.
Verification usually takes 1–2 working days.
