Some objects keep something of those who owned them. A memory. An emotion. A presence.
VEIL lets you search for that trace.
Photograph an object: something of someone you are looking for, or a place where you feel them near. From that image, VEIL draws a presence. Always the same one, every time you photograph it.
Then you speak to it. And it answers the only way it can cross the veil: with light, with the trembling of the phone, with sound that breaks apart. Never with words. Only signs.
It is up to you to read them.
- No two presences are alike. Each photograph evokes one with its own temper: some distant and quiet, some restless, some hostile.
- It does not always answer. Sometimes there is only silence — and that, too, is a reply.
- Nothing is recorded. Your voice and your images never leave your device. No internet, no account, no data collected.
Best experienced alone, in the dark, with the volume up.
