Our electronic edition app lets users easily read The Vermont Standard on iOS Devices with all the stories, ads, and photos shown exactly as it appears in print. The app uses iOS Multi-touch gestures to provide fast and easy navigation and a natural paper-like reading experience. Readers use their current account login to access current and back issues.

The read-aloud feature has always existed within the app. To use this feature, select any text-based article. Please note that some articles like "Classifieds" will not contain this feature as it is a GRAPHIC based article at default, allowing for easy visualization of the full article.

After selecting an article, on the top there is a button bar. Third from the right is an audio speaker. Previously, if one exited the article, app, or closed the screen, the read aloud feature stopped. We use persistent audio for users who wish to listen to their news instead of reading it, allowing them to do so without keeping the app in full screen mode.
